I’ve been trying everything too! YouTube videos and Reddit but still doesn’t work :(
I guess we might just have to wait it out! I will play online with my pc for now but I wanna be lazy and play from my bed haha

I thought I was going crazy, but I'm having the exact same issue on my Steam Deck after updating to 3.7.1 two days ago. There was a second version that released same day that I think did it.

My wife's Steam Deck is NOT on the hot fix that was pushed and is not having the issue. Here's hoping a new Steam Deck update gets pushed to address it.

Edit to add: this is only for the Linux version of the game. If you force a Proton (Windows) it still works. You can try that to start playing again at least.

uh i would but since im not tech savvy i dont wanna risk anything 😅

For those still experiencing issues, you can revert back to the old steam deck OS and it will work properly. Turn off your steam deck, when you turn it on, hold down the 3 dots button on the bottom right. A menu will pop up and you can select the old OS to bootup. From there, co-op should work again.

If anyone is running into this issue, a temporary solution may be to run the game using proton. Here's a quick and dirty how-to:

1. Ensure your game is closed, navigate to the game page in your library.
2. Select the cog in the menu, this screengrab is from PC but it's the same on deck

3. Choose properties

4. Select "Compatibility" (second option from the top) and click the box that says "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool (no screengrab sorry)
5. A dropdown will appear, select it and it will show various options. I chose Proton 9.0-4 and that worked. If it doesn't work for you try a different version.
6. Go back and start the game.
7. ????
8. Good luck
