Honestly there will of course be an eventual time I never return back to the game but as I generally do, I'll just play like there's a tomorrow until that time.

There are very few times where I feel like I'll never return to a game, at least any I've spent time and built up enough progress in to feel sentimental or complete about leaving.

I just stop playing, with the intention of returning to continue my farm "next time".

When that time comes, I always start a new farm though. As a result, I've had many farms close to perfection, but have never attained it once. My problem is, once everything becomes easy to get and money is no longer a struggle, I get bored. And since I don't like rushing myself, I just enjoy myself until one day I don't pick up the game again.

My version of perfection is just the fun I had along the way. 🥰

I feel the same, though often when I leave a game like that it feels really natural and I feel happy for the fun I had playing it rather than sadness that it's now gone
Yes! Great way of looking at it. There's games on my shelf, I did one playthrough, loved it, and haven't picked up again. I've considered it sometimes, but that very first playthrough of a great game is hard to capture that feeling again.

Stardew does seem like it has great replayability tho, so many different farms and options, I'll probably most definitely be running multiple playthroughs of this game.
