Do the ex spouses acknowledge their kids if the farmer has them?

I never tested this scenario before.
I think your ex-spouse bears grudge against you and be aloof when you talk to him/her.
Therefore, I don't think you will see anything about your children throughout the conversations with him/her.

Above is my speculation.
It will be better to validate if you can.

You can’t. They’ll hate you forever unless you use the witch.

Not really honestly, there's barely any dialogue pertaining to kids to begin with (mostly spouse saying something offhandedly in the morning), but that's limited to marriage.

I don't think so, like Wiki said, the only thing you can do to is to erase your memory with your ex-spouse in witch's house.
Afterwards you can re-build your relationship with him/her even re-marry.

Now I'm wondering if there's any dialogue if you dove your kids but remain married...
