Rare events and post-Perfection goals. (Here be spoilers.)

So, because my current post-perfection goals obviously aren't ridiculous enough, I'm adding a 'rare events seen' list - aiming to get screenshots if I can. :toothy: So far I have:
  • Rare dialogue for Marnie, Robin, Pierre, Gus, and Gunther listed here.
  • See the green animation on CA's splash screen.
  • See a truffle crab.
  • See a gold slime.
  • Get a black slime from the witch cursing a slime hutch.
  • See the ocean monster.
  • See the strange capsule creature (anyone know if this can this be seen more than once?)
  • See the other dark creature and have it leave a footprint.
  • See the UFO on the shipping screen.
  • See the man in the moon on the shipping screen.
  • At the summit, see the seasonal birds, the jet flyby, and the MarILDA flyby. (And the doves flyby if I manage to not feel guilty about dismissing the kids, lol.)
  • See a dove on a birdhouse (ditto kids again here.)
  • Find the Work Boots in a fishing chest I've bought them from the Adventurer's Guild, I just still want to do this.
Anyone know of any more? I've actually already seen a truffle crab and the ocean monster, I'm aiming to get screenshots if they happen again. I'm not going to be exhaustively chasing most of these, I'd just like to include them while I'm doing other extended goals/completionist stuff. :toothy:

Btw does anyone know if the wedding ring is combinable with other rings?

What about the prismatic butterfly? I have never caught it but I got message that it was flying somewhere. As an extra rare event: got a prismatic shard from the prismatic butterfly that is quite rare.

I've caught a couple but I've not had a prismatic shard, I'll add that one. Nice idea, thankyou.

I wonder if the number caught is recorded somewhere? 🤔

I've seen the witch curse the hut twice, the man in the moon once, the UFO once or twice, and all the summit events.
I'm so jealous because my younger sister took a video of the green sea monster that she saw!! She doesn't even know how rare it is lol

Another question if anyone knows; forging innate enchants - "cannot be applied to galaxy/infinity weapons, or any weapon with a level of at least 15". Are there actually any weapons with that level? I've just realized I'm not sure what weapon levels actually do, I always figured they were just a relative indicator of how good a weapon was. 😆

  • Rare dialogue for Marnie, Robin, Pierre, Gus, and Gunther listed here. - NO! (i never pay attention to most dialogue lines anyway, especially since latest patch changes to some)
  • See the green animation on CA's splash screen. - only once, in my previous save
  • See a truffle crab. - Many times; is that supposed to be rare?
  • See a gold slime. - From a quick search, this is from a mod i think, so no... Unless you mean the rare white slime, which drops diamonds on kill (can be given birth inside hutch randomly)
  • Get a black slime from the witch cursing a slime hutch. - In my previous previous save. Forgot to place statue inside hutch for protection.
  • See the ocean monster. - Only once and i got really frustrated, because i thought we were supposed to interact with it, on a limited time event or something.
  • See the strange capsule creature (anyone know if this can this be seen more than once?) - Only once, in my 1.5 save, long since purged. All other capsules that break, no creature see.
  • See the other dark creature and have it leave a footprint. - Huge monster shadow? Only once, in secret woods, near the pond. Foorprints, only in "backwoods" area seen, though.
  • See the UFO on the shipping screen. - Only once.
  • See the man in the moon on the shipping screen. - Never!
  • At the summit, see the seasonal birds, the jet flyby, and the MarILDA flyby. (And the doves flyby if I manage to not feel guilty about dismissing the kids, lol.) - No!
  • See a dove on a birdhouse (ditto kids again here.) - 3 times, across 100 hours of gameplay approximately.
  • Find the Work Boots in a fishing chest I've bought them from the Adventurer's Guild, I just still want to do this. - Found and trashed; previous save...

Seems like a nice list, as for your question about the strange capsule creature, yes you can see it more than once, it's just a per frame chance really so it can happen an unlimited amount of times.

(Should definitely add on seeing bigfoot too)

Thankyou.

Do you happen to know how weapon levels work? I'm trying to work out which weapons can have the innate enchantments, the wiki says 'no weapon with a power level of at least 15', but the only one with a level that high is the Infinity Gavel at 17, which is already disqualified - 'no Galaxy/Infinity weapons'. (I've not looked that closely at levels before.)

Yeah sure I can explain, it's based on what's basically a point system, each statistic (or at least most) giving different points in some large formula and the number bring rounded (I think down?)

This actually is only part of the tie into innate enchantments. They basically have 3 criteria, can't be a slingshot/scythe/etc. (which is rather obvious of course), it cannot be a weapon of level 15 or higher, and it cannot be a galaxy or infinity weapon.

Where the level 15 matters is due to that aforementioned point system formula, if you have a weapon like a dragontooth club which already has a rather high level, then forge it regularly with say rubies first, it's possible to go over that level 15 barrier and not be able to innate enchant it, even though you could if you had just forged it with gems after. It's in all honesty an arbitrary and rather stupid limit as it only applies to like 2 weapons and just punishes the player for not knowing they had to forge in the right order but ultimately that's not my decision.

Hope that helped

Here's the actual calculation (round down/truncate the final value): average weapon damage (rounded down) x (1 + 0.03 x speed{min 0; 15 if dagger}) + (precision / 2 + defense) + ((crit.chance -0.02) x 200) + ((crit multiplier - 3) x 6) + 20{if darksword, else 0} + (defense x 2)

(Then it's weapon points /7) +1 for the final level of the weapon
