Tea Sets: What are they good for?

I have tried placing my hard-won and coveted tea set on a table and on a tea table, but it seems unplaceable. Am I missing something? Or am I just running into the usual mobile challenges with placing stuff? The wiki says it can be stacked in chests and inventory or gifted but nothing about placement as decor.

The Tea Set should be placeable on any Table, that sounds like yet another mobile tile selection annoyance. Try it zoomed a bit differently and hopefully you'll be able to place the Set properly and invite Evelyn by for socializing.

As long as she brings the Cookies.

That is the best thing to do when you want to move/place furnitures accurately without spending many in-game hours with the farmer performing random (and sometimes really annoying) actions instead of the one you want him to do.

Also, what are they good for? Prestige decoration. They are simply one of the rarest items in the game that can only be gifted to you by adults at the Feast of the Winter Star excepting a short list of folks (Clint, Evelyn, Marnie, Robin and Willy)... but the list of gifts the rest can give you is quite varied, so you never know if you'll get one. It's totally random and hidden behind RNG.

Prestigious decoration is worth for keeping it until you uninstall the game.

It’s mobile. Some things, like pet hats that used to be placeable on dogs and cats or picking up crab pots without buttons now require the mobile joystick and buttons instead of just tap to place. So try that but if it doesn’t work it’s sadly a mobile thing.
Mobiles second or third bug fix screwed up my game mobile 1.6 pretty bad. Mostly little things that don’t matter too much but make gameplay slower or not quite as fun. I was always hoping they would fix it back but no luck.

I used to play computer but since I got breast cancer and now lymphedema I can’t use a mouse. I can tap on an iPad with a pencil but not a computer. Things went more smoothly on PC. Never knew what I was missing as before 1.6 I only played mobile. Much better quality. Bug fixes and patches roll out quickly and much better gaming platform plus you can mod if you want.

I've gotten the teaset placed to my liking using the joystick trick. I also noticed that placing objects and petting animals has gotten easier in the latest release, but at some loss of precision.

I've never played outside of iOS, and given that most games are ported, rather than native, to the platform, I'm accustomed to glitches. For me, having the game handy when I'm standing in line somewhere is an important use case. Also, I've kind of abandoned Wintel for my personal computing, and am doing everything on iOS.
