Okay so like why does the farmer not do the right dance and stand not even in line? Ive been playing for a long time and have no idea why.

It was probably too difficult to accommodate the movement of all the different shirts and especially dresses/pants that the Farmer can wear. So he just omitted the custom movements the bachelor/ettes do in the Flower Dance and just went with whatever was closest which are already part of the Farmer's standard sprite movements. Seeing as it's for a single event once a year, I can see a developer jettisoning details of those types to get the game finally out the door and published.
And once it's known as a weird quirk of the game, it ends up begin a meme like Grandpa's bed or Abby eating Quartz. Now you gotta leave it in.

That is true. However, could it be that only one outfit is used for that purpose? I mean, when you reach a certain amount of hearts with an NPC, does Emily mail you the day before THAT outfit to dance in? Or buy it at the store that Pierre puts right there at the event.
Well, this is my contribution for the future.... Just a thought.

I don't care if they are fumble footed over the dance event.
The most confusing thing for me in terms of flower dance is that I am already married with someone.
But if I don't talk to anyone before the event and trigger the flower dance by Mayor Lewis, I will be finally kicked out of the dance event and witness the whole process.
And my wife will dance with another boy !!!!!!
You know what ...I want to emphasize that I am married and one more important thing is that I have reached maximum hearts with all the girls.

Ultimately a dance is just a dance. It’s not like your spouse is going home with them after. But it does seem a little odd. I guess coding, it was sort of always assumed people would dance with their spouse, or be unmarried, or just not attend at all. You can hit the mines or fish at the beach all day, etc.

hahaha, just let it go buddy, as MateoOfRiverwood said, it is just a dance. Don't overthink it any longer.literally on my other save i married alex and every year he would watch haley and say "hehe just enjoying the scenery" ugghhhh made me so mad lol
