Easy animal crackers?

My wife is having the hardest time getting animal crackers. At this point she is getting maybe one per in game week, if that. She has tried boosting treasure chests via fishing, monster musk in mines with high amounts of creatures (dust sprite levels), chopping down her desert trees. I’ve told her to try the treasure totem but she is using her syrup for bluegrass.

Does anyone have a decent way of obtaining animal crackers? I know filthy_gorilla is trying to get something like 1800 of them, any ideas?

I get them fairly common fishing, it's a 7% & 9% base chance from the two respective chests right? With all the item-boosting powers (Magnet [bait], Treasure Hunter [tackle, 2x], Pirate), those odds only drop by a little bit more... I think fishing is the best bet? Unless you resort to multiplayer item cloning.

Perfection whale farm is pretty much right on the money, while a little monotonous, fishing is your best bet as the chance to get them from chests/golden chests is comparatively high while the time between each chest isn't proportionally longer than going for crates in the mines or chopping trees, etc.

Do keep in mind that while some of the methods to getting animal crackers are (daily)luck dependent, their chance from each treasure chest isn't, so you can fish on a horrid luck day just as much as a best luck day. The actual chance to reel in a treasure chest is however affected, so maybe do keep to the luckier days.

Fishing, during very lucky days and with full Luck buffs (best case scenario and you can reset the day, if you don't find some)!

Combat, during very lucky days and with full Luck buffs (completely random and not so lucrative)!

My best luck is dangerous mines monster drops, and golden fishing chests. If you have access to mastery cave and can make treasure warp totems, you can get good luck that way too.

Fishing, during very lucky days and with full Luck buffs (best case scenario and you can reset the day, if you don't find some)!

Combat, during very lucky days and with full Luck buffs (completely random and not so lucrative)!

Do note that while getting the golden animal cracker from killing monsters/breaking crates/barrels is affected by luck, it's only daily luck, buff luck won't help (doesn't help crate/barrel spawns or monster spawns so it won't help that way either)
