I always thought Community was the "good" path and Joja the "evil" path, plus that "good" is supposedly synonym for "best" and "most rewarding"...
Trying the Joja Route once, was more than enough, to mythbust my former misconceptions!
FilthyGorilla regularly lists down the benefits of Joining Joja and i myself, stick with the select few, that always benefit my Meadowlands farm the most:
1) Villagers don't change scedule (having them change it once, upon unlocking Ginger Island resort, is already a handful).
2) Autopetters (pretty rare drop, where and when even treasure floors themselves are pretty rare; don't ask me to farm for them, i need FOUR for my layout!)
3) Joja Mart is open till late at night, when you miss early shopping at Pierre's (and Pierre tries to screw both farmer and fellow townspeople, is pretty greedy during certain cutscenes)
4) Movie Theater lies in an arguably more convenient location.
5) *You can complete all the bundles you want (minus one), right before buying the Joja customer subscription!* (this way, you still get your desired rewards, you spend no money for community repairs save for the very final one and you get a substitute feeling of wholeness, as a goody-two-shoes wannabe)
6) Your "perfection trophy" is a Soda Machine and it produces Joja Cola daily (no more junk fishing, or 75g apiece at the saloon; you need them in bulk anyway, for one endgame quest, which is repeatable)
7) Joja has agents at Ginger Island... Those, can be paid large sums of money, to offer you legit game shortcuts, taking away your woes. While they are active even during Community Path, i feel such gratitude for their service, that i owe them sum sorry, some (pun intended). Especially the Joja Parrot, i love the little rascal!
