Switch Trinkets downgrading

I’m playing on a co-op farm and both of us have experienced our equipped trinkets downgrading from the highest levels (level 4 parrot and level 5 fairy) to level 1. We didn’t reforge them; they’ve been equipped this entire time… they downgraded while equipped and so I grabbed another level 4 parrot and the second I dropped it inside my equip box it downgraded to level 1.

Just updated for most recent patch on switch, all of my trinkets have been reset at random. Have lost all max stats on all trinkets.

This also happened to me. I had 2 level 1 fairy boxes and 2 level 5 fairy boxes, and they reset to 2 level 1s, and 2 level 2s....Also their randomized appearance changed (and swapping them out when equipping them did not change their appearance either).

The same has happened to me. My level 5 fairy is now a level 2 and it changed colours. I really hope this can be fixed because I loved my original fairy 😭 all of my frogs are now green or green blue.

The Switch update to 1.6 that came through today has messed up a few of my trinkets:
  • two yellow frog eggs and one void frog egg turned into green and blue-green
  • a level 5 fairy box downgraded to level 3 :(((((
Other trinkets seem unaffected — a heavy magic quiver, perfect ice rod, parrot egg, and golden spur seem unchanged.

You had a yellow and void frog egg!?! My wife and I have only seen green, blue-green, and brown. I’m not sure how many we’ve sold collectively (upwards of 25 each). We just started thinking they didn’t exist.

So it wasn't only me, then. I've had the same thing happening to me on my main save.

A void frog egg that I'd been so proud of, suddenly shows up as a red frog, all the while the description still reads it as a void frog egg while my fairy trinket that was also formerly a level 5, not only got downgraded to level 2 but looks different as well.

Much like with the void frog, I'd been so happy with my fairy on that save since she resembled my character and reminded me of Tinkerbell. I was honestly on the verge of tears when I first opened that save and noticed those changes. 😭

I’ve also noticed, that they show up as one color while in a chest, and then change color when I try to put them in the jungle tank. Lost my void, yellow, red ones…

Apparently, this was caused by them changing the RNG for things like how rain chance is determined.

From a CA twitter post - "Because of the randomization fix, there may be some one-time-only "retroactive" changes to things like raccoon requests or item appearance."

So it doesn't appear to be a bug, so much as an unintended consequence.

Thanks for this info! So do we expect them to keep this new frog colors, fairy etc.? My initial reservation in not touching my Void, Prismatic Frogs etc. is so I want to avoid this ended up getting treated as a "bug" and then this current randomization is rolled back to restore the old colors for Frogs and Fairies only. If CA and dev are willing to accept this change as a one-time occurrence with no intention of rolling it back to the older colors - I will proceed with rerolling my frogs to Void, Prismatic for the current randomization then!

Yeah, I'm really not sure if this is a permenent change or just a temporary 'fix' until a permanent solution is implemented. Personally, I'd probably wait until everything was sorted out before spending lots of resources/time trying to get the exact colors I wanted.

I hope they find a way to revert back to the levels & colors we had. My fairy switched colors and lost her levels. But with the tweet, it seems to be something permanent, like it had to happen so they could fix what they intended to initially. Very upsetting :( hopefully I can find trinkets of higher levels at least and not only level 1 (I had a level 2 fairy I kept as an extra in a chest and it also switched back to level 1, as did other trinkets that lost their initially better stats).

omg i’m so sorry! the color my fairy swapped to is pretty at least, i’d cry if i got the one you talked about! i’m not touching my save any more either. i’m really hoping we both get our pretty and more useful fairies back!!!!! ✨

Yes, no spoilers but there are other colors too. I got lucky and only had to re-forge a few times to get another void froggie and one more fun color.
