Xbox Game constantly crashing in split screen with no obvious triggers

I'm trying to play with my family 4 split screen on xbox and it is so frustrating. The game crashes sometimes randomly during the day or at night when everyone goes to bed and before it saves. It's getting increasingly frustrating redoing a day sometimes 3x especially if you get a rare item and lose it.

Any workaround or advice on not triggering the crashes? Was this like this before the 6.1 update? We just started playing.

Same happens to me with 2 player. I got my wife into playing, and the crashing is really frustrating for her.
We also have an issue where the mine will sort of freeze. No animations. If I hit a rock or enemy, they just freeze, ans I can't get the drops. I have to leave and come back. Really sucks when I'm on like 84, and have to do those 4 levels over again.
I haven't figured out if there is a specific trigger. The mine freeze seems to happen most when she is fishing at the same time.

I came here to report the mine issues as well. I thought it was just my old ps4 not being able to handle the multiplayer but it happened on my friends ps5 as well. Can’t pick up items in the mine and makes it virtually unplayable.

My wife and I have been having the same issues on my Xbox Series X. Never happened before the 1.6 update. The mines freezing is frustrating because you can’t get any loot. But you can find staircases I believe. The crashes have been much rarer for us though. Definitely never multiple times playing the same day.

Same issue for me and my partner in co-op. The game seemingly randomly crashes. No clear triggers it can vary from farm work, mines, walking around town, etc.
We have also been running in to issues where my partners "floor in the mines" will break. No enemies spawn and no drops can be collected if he's able to find the staircase it'll fix on the next level.
Also we had an issue where the volcano mines loaded two separate "floors" for me and my partner when we went there together. I was unable to leave, had to use a warp totem back home.
Also our cat disappeared, completely gone from our animal list.
Lastly we have experienced a bug where our barn animals will come outside to eat grass, they walk up to the grass and then just stand there. No truffle drops or anything they wouldn't move around just stand. We have to restart the game when this happens no other workaround.
I have played Stardew Valley on and off for many years on PC, Xbox, Playstation, and Switch and I have never across these issues before so I'm assuming they are specific to 1.6 on console.
Hoping the team is aware of the Xbox issues because it is ALMOST unplayable in this state. Though I would be lying if I didn't say we have tried to just push through by replaying the days, losing out on resources, etc.

I haven't found any trigger for the random crashing. I know that if the host used bombs in the mines, it would trigger a crash. As for the frozen floor glitch, it seems that it's caused by the host. Try having somebody who's not the host enter the floors first and see if you still get the frozen floor glitch.
