Brighten level 30-39

These 10 levels are only levels too dark to see laders. And I have not get mining level 4 to craft glowstone ring. Getting glow rings is hard.

Try holding a torch above your head, it's only 10 levels and offers a little challenge before reaching the very rewarding 40+ floors
When I don't have a Glow ring then I do it the same way... take a lot of torches, running around with one in my hands and placing some when digging.
When finding the ladder I picked all up before going down.
It's not difficult and takes just some moments longer, but its much easier to see the dark Stone golems.

I use this way but it's inconvenient. And it's hard to find ladders that spawn in advance.
Yeah, and that's part of the challenge of going through them, the game wouldn't be fun if there wasn't some resistance in some things, all other floors in the mines are lightened up too

Even if you go there and whack rocks randomly you're practically guaranteed to get down the five levels to reach a checkpoint in the form of the elevator.

These 10 levels are only dark levels and it's in the beginning of game so I don't have many good ways. I just feel inconvenient.
There's a lot of ways for this, brightening levels, craftable glow rings, ladders not blocking spawning of other ladders (this is for ladders spawning in advance, the biggest problem of dark levels). And I think brightening is the best way because dark levels are uncommon, only 10 levels.

Actually the lightened mines are strange to me. We have dark night overground but light at the underground.
I would more like to have always dark floors and just some torches/miner's lamps at the walls or "magical glow stones" to have some minimal light. We get torches early on in the game, so this would be a problem I think.

I do get the inconsistency but I think it would definitely get annoying if there were so many more wall lamps and torches around, could potentially have some sort of bioluminescent look with more slimy algae cave walls

I mean they only real way you're seeing in the dark is with craftable lights like torches or with a glow-type ring which means you really aren't that limited in the early game vs any other time
There's a lot of ways for this, brightening levels
Again these are the only dark levels and also have a function in basically governing the skull cavern mummy floors (won't go into mechanics but separating the two would be a fair bit of additional effort)
craftable glow rings
You can craft the glowstone ring and only need level 4 mining which is very low, that only requires 1300 xp, a comparatively low amount and something you could potentially go for early, though the ingredients will be hard sourced before the ice levels.
You can also craft the iridium band later on in combat levels which would make the crafting feel oversaturated with glow type rings if another were added
ladders not blocking spawning of other ladders (this is for ladders spawning in advance,
While a small boon for these levels, it would be incredibly annoying later on in the game as you'd be left with dozens of ladders blocking the way and being and potentially bringing you down a floor when you don't want. I get the sentiment but this would really be a net negative overall
