We need more marriage candidates! I feel like the variety we have now needs to be expanded. Just a few more would be good, people with different body types and skin colors.

Yeah, I've noticed that while the NPCs generally are somewhat diverse, the bachelor/ettes are less so.

Totally agree! More representation would make the game feel more inclusive. Stardew has such a great community vibe, so expanding the marriage candidates to reflect different body types, ages, and backgrounds would be awesome. Maybe the devs could take some inspiration from community mods that have already explored this? Would love to see some updates in a future patch!

They're all young'uns, which makes sense in a way - if you could marry Willy or the wizard or whoever, would they be as willing to have kids?

(Set aside that not all players want kids in-game - I don't!).

But I agree, it'd be great to have more diversity in race and age. Marnie, for sure, Clint perhaps. How about Gunther? Sandy seems like she's at least a bit older than the existing bachelor/ettes, too.

Of course, there are mods that allow you to date pretty much any of them, and many new characters beside, but expanding the pool would be great. (Admittedly you'd maybe have to take Abigail out of the game to stop me just picking up all her heart events...)
