Check lost and found. If it's not there, a lot of people find there's in the fridge. If you don't have a fridge, it's stuck in a chest somewhere and you will have to go looking for it. You can not permanently lose your can.

i’ve checked all the chests n the fridge and lost and found like ive seen ppl suggest but i genuinely can’t find it in any of them
