Tree shirt?

I recently made a new save (I’m on Summer 16, year 1.) On a rainy day, I decided to clear out my farm and mine some trees. However, when I chopped down a pine tree, an item suddenly appeared in my inventory-

“Vacation Shirt.”

I looked at the Wiki- nothing. I’ve never seen this before, and I can’t find anyone else talking about it. The “Vacation Shirt” is only available by putting a Coconut in the sewing machine. I’m so confused. Can anyone explain this? Please help!!

I think this is a new aspect of 1.6. I've had it happen a few times when cutting down trees or breaking rocks.

Yes, this is part of the huge list of v1.6 additions, mentioned here:

"Item drop changes:

• There's now a small chance to find cosmetic items and other goodies while doing random tasks."

So it's not only when chopping down Trees but also when doing many other things like slaying Monsters, pickaxeing Ores and Stones, chopping fallen Wood, fishing up a Treasure Chest, etc.

There are even a couple cosmetics you can only get from these random chances. A bit of a bane for players going for item collections but you do tend to get a fair few drops just going on about your business

The vast majority of my farmer's clothes is stuff that fell out of trees. I feel like it adds to his overall personality. He's the kind of farmer who would wear a shirt that fell out of a tree.

I never even sew any clothes lol. I got a drawer full of items from random drops and emily's dessert festival stand
