Iridium without going to Skull Caverns

I'm putting together a list of ways to get iridium ore without going to the Skull Caverns. (I am getting better at runs, but just don't like them.) Here's what I've come up with - can anyone add things I've missed?

  • Statue of Perfection
  • Magma geodes (note that nodes will spawn on the Hilltop and Four Corners farms once your mining level is high enough)
  • Omni geodes
  • Monsters on the farm once you reach combat level 10
  • Super cucumber fish pond (need at least 9 in the pond)
  • Iridium nodes in the Volcano Dungeon
  • Meteors
  • Mystic stones (check the quarry periodically)

I think you can also get some Iridium from Panning.

Ah, of course; I don't fish much. Do regular fishing treasure chest have it, or only golden ones?

Do you know if you have to upgrade the pan before you can get iridium ore, or if you can get it with just the copper pan?

I've gotten Iridium in Fishing Treasure Chests before the Golden one was added in v1.6 so I'm sure of that. You can get Iridium from a regular Copper Pan though I don't remember if I ever have as I almost never Pan except to get missing things at Ginger. And until you mentioned it, I'd forgotten you can even upgrade the Pan!

Are you an iOS player? I am, and panning was badly implemented in 1.4-1.5. It is much better in 1.6.

That's a really cool idea. I'm coming up on Grandpa's evaluation, but it occurs to me that I don't HAVE to pick up the reward statue right away. Maybe I'll see how long it takes me to upgrade all my tools without it.
