Android It is hard to pet animals - it takes several taps to pet an animal

When I try to pet an animal, it doesn't matter which one as it's doing it in all of them, a lot of my taps aren't recognized the first time. Before the update, if I was far away and tapped on an animal, I'd walk up to it and pet it. Now, I'll walk up to it and stand next to it.

It usually takes multiple taps before I get the heart, though occasionally (rarely), it works the first tap.

This happens regardless of if I am in the coop or outside. I have tried tapping the same spot on different animals in case it's a hitbox thing, but that doesn't seem to be the problem. Some pigs it's when I tap their middle, some their heads, some their rear. It doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason to it.

I have 2 barns and 2 coops containing 12 pigs, 2 each of white and brown cows, 4 goats, 2 sheep, 2 ostriches, 4 rabbits, 8 dinosaurs, 2 of each of the chickens (white, brown, blue, void, gold), and 2 ducks.

I am on a Google Pixel 6, Android 14, SDV version 1.6.11.0. I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but my save was a mobile 1.4 save that was upgraded to 1.5, and then again to 1.6. It is also happening on my 1.6 PC save that I copied to my phone.

same here!! for me it only happens to my barn animals but I can't find a solution for that

I wanna add this: try to use the controls instead of "tap to move and auto-attack"!
it worked for me and now I can easily pet my animals and refill my cat's bowl!

also you can always revert to "tap to move and auto-attack" for all the other tasks during the game!

Hmm, I can try, but I am not good at them. Getting accustomed to tap to move and auto-attack are why I struggle so much with PC, lol. But I can see if it helps just for the barn. Thanks!

i am exactly the same, but i only use the controls to pet my animals and then i switch back to tap to move etc!! it's easier than what i was expecting!
