You can manually transfer your data between phones and computers. Otherwise, all saves are just local.
No i mean for other devices too.. like xbox because i play on xbox and im not able to transfer my data which is why i feel logins would be more easier

Yeah you can’t normally switch data between platforms. Some super smarties have gotten PC files to mobile but console doesn’t go to mobile far as I know. Which platform did you previously play on?

They play on Xbox which unfortunately would take quite a bit of effort or be overall impossible to setup a synced account that you could transfer data back and forth for.

I do love the idea but it isn't the most likely, especially when he's already preoccupied with updates and whole other games like HC

If CA wanted to put in all the work required to add some sort of optional crossover account with save storage, I'm sure no one would complain.
However, if it was mandatory, I would stop playing the game and I bet others would, too. I hate singleplayer games that force you to sign in to an account to play.

I very much doubt it would be made mandatory, that being said I doubt the creation of such an account in the first place as save storage for so many people and files as well as transferring back and forth sounds like a logistical nightmare

I have an easy idea. Add a feature to upload save and create a key. When you want to move your save, you can create a key of your save and use this key on the phone. Then destroy the key.

Yeah, with how small a team it sounds like CA has working with him and another game in the works, I can't imagine doing that. How would he ever find the time or energy?

That isn't nearly as easy as you think, files are more than just your seed, they're all the things you've done, items you have, progress towards certain goals, and more

You would have to make this "code" long enough to encode all the data of a save for another device to entirely recreate it, at that point you're basically just sending the same save file that you originally had, defeating the entire purpose

Technically it wouldn't be a nightmare but organisational. One has to take care of servers and connectors for each platform and support all these.
Not to mention that this would cost some money extra and time.

The only way to do it in my eyes is to offer an API so third party programmers can offer such service.
Probably they would charge for such service.
The question is if enough people would pay for such service. I doubt it...
