Xbox My 9 year old needs help! :)

Hello everyone, my son, who is autistic and LOVES Stardew Valley, came to me yesterday feeling a bit worried. He wanted to leave his house in the game, but trees were blocking the front door, and for some reason, he doesn't have any tools in the house or on him.

I haven't played the game myself, and after looking into it, I'm not sure if this is a bug or just a misunderstanding on his part. He assures me his character woke up to this, so I'm wondering if there's a way to resolve this, or if he'll need to start a new game.

I really appreciate any advice! Apologies if this isn't the right place to ask.

Can you share a screenshot of the situation? There would have to be several trees to block the house.

Sadly no tools at all, I tried to see if I can fast travel, use the phone to call people from the town or even buy tools that way to help him, but he says that is not the way it works.

I don't know if this is possible on Xbox, but on PC it is possible to roll back a save file a day by renaming files. Someone else more knowledgeable on that platform would have to say if it's possible here, as I don't even know how you'd go about finding the save files on a console.

sadly on Xbox I can't, it seems it has auto save and that is his only save file.

It's outside of his house, not reacheable because of the trees sadly.

Otherwise it might be impossible to get out.

If he starts another file, he should not let that many trees grow close to the house. The tall trees do not grow over night, but they spread seeds and they can grow into the little trees. So either he needs to carry tools at all times, be very vigilant about seeds on the ground or keep the trees in check.

you could also create the next farm with a second character. He can still play on his own, but when a problem like this happens you can start the game in split screen coop mode and use that farmer to help him. You just need to make sure not to take the second farmers tools away.

So, I should create a new farm in co-op, let him create his own, and maybe create a character for myself to help if a similar situation happens again? I'll suggest to him that if he starts a new game from scratch, he should always carry his tools. I guess it’s a lesson learned… Still, I feel sad for him, and I wish there was something that could be done in these situations. It should be preventable in some way, even if a mistake like this is made.

You would need 4x copper/iron and 1x coal. That is if the character has reached the required levels. You can see the crafting recipes in the 5th tab. I think a tree needs 3 bombs to fall. Not sure about the stump.

Try hovering over the game in the home menu, press the 3 lines on the controller, go to manage app or manage apps and games. Here you will be able to see the save files if he has more than one. I believe there is a way to roll back the saves from cloud saved games. I hope this helps.
