Worst quest ever (for modded games)

This MAY be a nice quest for all you vanilla Stardewers here, but for those like me who are playing with extensive mods that add NPCs (Stardew Expanded + Ridgeside Village for me), this one might as well be a "You're SOL -- just wait for the next one" deal. How am I supposed to talk to 67 different people in just 2 days?!?

I'm also curious about what the probabilities are that a player will get this quest? Also, how often might this quest occur? (It would be really weird if Emily chooses to do this twice in a row.)

That's so real.. I play with SVE and RSV, plus I play with two custom NPCS and this quests are pissing me off. The first wanted quest, as good as I know doesn't show up that often(well, it doesn't show up in MY saves too often)... I have two tips for those quests!
You can download Mobile phone - Continued and call em all and talk with them.
OR you can go around the townS and talk to everyone in your path(it includes going into houses, shops and other buildings ofc). Both of this tips take kind of a lot time though.

That quest is annoying enough in vanilla that I rarely accept it.

No clue about what its chance to appear is. Seems less common than the other request types, but that's just the impression I've gotten.

I think I've encountered it once and it was irritating enough with no extra people and areas (+ cheating with timespeed). There was also something buggy in counting the meetings so it was hard to keep count.

I’m not sure if it’s a bug or intended, but the first time I accepted it it was impossible to complete. I had already chatted with some people, and commissioned Robin to build something before I accepted the quest. Talking to them again on the same day did nothing, and Robin was inaccessible the next day.

I feel like it shouldn’t matter if you have already talked to them that day, you didn’t relay Emilys message…

I'm surprised no one's made a tweak that makes it so you can configure how many people you have to talk to, since it could be useful for people with expanded towns, or people without who are just annoyed with the quest.

That quest is an auto-skip for me on vanilla and it's pretty nice when I see it as I know it's not worth the time, so now there's more time for other things!
yeah likewise, the reward is something like 100g which I can get in a fraction of the time by picking up forage on the first day

It Is a nice incentive to new players to walk around town and talk to people though, which is what it's intended for above all else

Thank you for that, you two.

Though IIRC, I believe I originally titled this thread "Worst quest ever (for modded games)" :toothy:

100g? Are you sure? Such a reward isn't even mentioned in the quest description in the Journal.

According to this description, you would get some bonus friendship with everyone in your game -- on top of the friendship that you would get by simply talking to them, which could be HUGE if you are trying to get max hearts with everyone. (But I guess this would be worthless to you, FG, as I'm sure you've already maxed everyone's hearts out aeons ago )

So for anyone who HAS managed to complete this quest, does Emily -- the one who requested this -- say anything different or unusual the day of or the the day after you complete this quest?

I always remembered it as a money one, though it may have been changed to friendship, I'm not entirely sure, for some reason I have the vivid recollection of it being a small money reward but I could be wrong, it's been probably half a decade since I last completed that quest (without just cancelling it straight away)

are you all talking about the same quest? Money is for the introduction quest, but in 1.6 there’s now a quest from the billboard outside Pierre’s shop where Emily asks you to say hi to everyone (which is much harder than the introduction quest because you only got two days).

As Ereo stated, you are likely confusing this quest with the Introductions quest that is given to new Farmers at the start of the game which asks you to greet everyone in town (or in your modded game) with a few exceptions such as the Dwarf and Krobus and offers a small money reward with no time limit. In my Stardew + Expanded + Ridgeside Village game, that initial Introductions quest took me until the Flower Dance to complete!

I'm mixing them up, I've played basically no 1.6, definitely no early game 1.6

Thanks for the clarification Ereo

Is the wiki then incorrect? It labels the introductory quest as a story quest (all the permanent ones that only go away if completed or cancelled) that gives friendship, which is confusing me.

you’re right, you do get 100 friendship points with everyone. 100G is for the follow up quest to give someone a gift.
