Switch ginger island sleep glitch

hi folks! here's my problem: whenever i start up the game, i wake up in the main farmhouse even after going to sleep in the sleeping hut on ginger island. it happens regardless of whether i passed out or actually went to bed. if i go to sleep on ginger island, let the game save, then keep playing, i do wake up in the ginger island sleeping hut.

it'a kind of driving me nuts, even tho it can be a useful way to warp back to the main farm.

i'm playing single player on the switch, unmodded. version 1.5.4.2 any suggestions? or at least any commiseration? thank you!!

I know this is an old post but this doesnt seem corrected. Did you ever find a solutuon @Moss Goblin? I have the same problem and no idea whats causing it.

no solution, unfortunately. or, now i have the relevant travel pillars and i just don't expect to wake up on ginger island. i'm hoping it's fixed in 1.6?
