This is a really small change, but I think it could be really useful. I think in a future update, there should be either a new Ginger Island farm computer, or a setting on the farm computer that says how many crops are ready on Ginger Island. If Ginger Island gets really updated in 1.6, with barns and coops and different animals for Ginger Island so it's basically just like a second farm, then I think the Ginger Island farm computer should be added. Qi should be able to sell buildings for Ginger Island, that the player can build using money and things on the island. Qi gems are too hard to get, that's why I think gold should be used instead.

You're mentioning multiple things here. I'm not sure what each vote is supposed to be saying in response to your overall post.

Yes, it would be nice for the computer to also report on the Ginger Island Farm, or for the computer placed on Ginger Island to report on the Ginger Island Farm...

...but I absolutely do not believe that Qi Gems are hard to get. You should not be able to spend gold for the things you need Qi Gems for. Gold is really easy to acquire in massive amounts by the time you get to the Ginger Island.

Yes it would be nice to buy buildings like you can on the farm on Ginger Island, but I also don't think you should be able to buy every building that is available for purchase in the Valley but on the island.

I'll change it to be more specific.
I do understand what you mean, maybe something different, or Qi gems. I just have some trouble getting the gems and walnuts, maybe I just want it to be easier. :hmm:

That's what I meant, I think it should be something like the wizard setup, where there's a place where you can buy buildings.

The problem with any Ginger Island Farm computer is there's pretty much no technology there outside of Qi's Phantasmagorium and Drab Interior Design studio. And that guy's well known for not sharing-- we all knew someone like him in grade school. And he's got a stranglehold on the local economy with his like third captive currency there so no luck with the pipe dream of using g.

Instead, any Ginger Island Farm Computer would need to use the Gilligan's Island Principle of Technology, being powered by Coconuts connected to makeshift bicycle cranks and you'd need to provide parts to the Professor in order to even get it working in the first place. Parrot feathers would continually be getting into the works and need a periodic cleanout and at the very least, the Gourmand Frog would on occasion need to whack you upside the head with his walking stick to knock some sense into your silly brain.

I'm unaware if you can still contract with the Harlem Globetrotters for the occasional visit but maybe the Savannah Bananas are available this winter.

Maybe the dragons were very intelligent and they made a dragon gadget? If the island doesn't get a big update like I said above, I think there should just be the setting on the farm computer.

I do like the idea, that could be fun, also the professor having a bigger role would be good.

Hmmm. The farm computer does work on Ginger Island (I always have two), but shows the main farm information. There is no reason why it could not shoe GI information, too -- the dwarven culture had been there!
As for buildings in GI, why not parrots building them? Maybe you could order the buildings from the trader? They should not be similar to the ones on mainland. A shed of some kind, and an ostrich barn (actually being able to keep ostrichs only on GI would be logical).

I believe there is supposed to be a patch to the current farm computer in the next update, in that it will display statistics for the map area it is currently in rather than always the main farm. So that is already in the works, and we just have to be patient.

Qi gems are absurdly easy to amass if you take the right quests and have a little patience. Take things a little slower.

That's true, but I like @Lew Zealand idea of the professor having something to do with building them. The Parrots build (or remove for the turtles ) natural things, unless buildings would be like a :junicheer: Hut and have a bunch of natural materials.

Yay! That would be so much better and easier.

I guess, I just want to do other things besides it, I think it kinda stresses me out because I'm worried that I won't make it in time, or I have other things I want to do, but I accept the quests anyway.

I like the farm computer idea. I use it as a second and much larger greenhouse so don’t need animals, plus Qi gives me the creeps and I’d never give him a dime. I also would love to have my family and dog come stay in the house overnights, its big enough for us all.

That would be fun, I think something like that has been posted in suggestions before

Regarding Farm Computer there are some similar suggestions already...

Overall I like to have more possibility at GI. But I am not a big fan of Mr. Qi - he/it(?) is to alien to me and (for me) doesn't fit well in the SDV scenario.
Also the Qi-stuff ruined some game mechanics for me, like Magic Bait for fishing.

Probably 😉

We also picked the same SdV husband. I’m a big Harvey fan. 🥰. Hope he makes a great in game companion for your farmer too. He doesn’t get much support here. Totally underestimated IMHO Maybe it’s cause I’m older than many here IRL? I chose him cause he’s so selfless and focused more on others than himself. He actually has a job, and loves the married and family life. He’s a lot like my IRL husband. 🥰

Very true.
Once you have the Crystalarium you can produce huge amounts of Jade and trade it at the desert into Staircases.
This way you can easily complete the "Danger In The Deep" mission with 50 Qi gems.

Keep in mind that there are zero penalties for not finishing quests of any kind. If you make it, great; if you fell short, you don't get punished in any way. You don't need to listen to Mr. Qi. He's kind of a jerk anyway.

So true. I love discovering his true hide out on GI (just check out that extensive spyware!), taking over his island and rescuing his child prisoner. Now if only I could get him out of that room to shut down his spyware for good. Maybe Maru, Demetrius and Sebastian could help break into it and disable it with their smarts and tech know how. Kent, Alex and Elliot are pretty strong and could hold him down while his room is ransacked. I’ve got weapons and bombs galore for back up. Once his true identity is discovered, his power taken away, all evil will cease to exist in SdV forever and we will all live happily ever after in our beloved pixelated home!

I probably just need to save them up, and do what quests I feel comfortable with doing without getting stressed or dying.

I love him, he's soo sweet! As you can see in my picure, he does make a great companion. I'm also kinda like him, in the nice and sweet kind of way, not the doctor kind of way. Though after you've been married for about six years, his dialogue can get a little boring. Next update I'm going to pick the new farm and marry him.

Bombs! Bombs bombs bombs! Constantly blow him up! The only thing I like about him are the items he sells.
