I Think Pelican Town Needs a Couple More Residents.

Linus sometimes comments that someone was throwing rocks at his tent the previous night and also occasionally comments that someone spray painted his tent and it took him all morning to clean it. There's also whoever keeps robbing the farmer if they pass out outside their farmhouse.

While a few of the townspeople don't make the best first impression, none of them seem like the type to do any of this. The rocks I could maybe see being Jas, but I don't think she'd spray paint Linus' tent or rob anyone. Morris is certainly a jerk, but he rarely seems to leave Jojamart and obviously has to commute from out of town to work, so when would he have the time? We rarely see tourists in the valley, so it seems like a bit of a stretch to assume it's one for these incidents. There's the cashier at Jojomart (who I think works at the theater concession stand later on), but she's not really a character as she has no dialogue. She's not even really a member of the town, as she doesn't have a home there. Plus, she's always exhausted.

If there was a 'town jerk' who remained that way no matter how well the farmer got to know them, it would really fill in the blanks for these incidents and also round out the town a bit more, imo.

I would also like to see a postman/postmistress, since the farmer receives mail often enough and we also se George receiving mail at one point. The game is sure to tell us (and remind us at points) that Mayor Lewis is the one emptying the farmer's selling bins at the crack of dawn, so it seems a bit odd to ignore the mail arriving.

Can anyone think of any other characters that are 'missing'?

Could have also just been the rocks from the cliff side above his tent falling on it.
This is my new headcanon. Rocks simply fell on his tent but he always assumes people won't get him or want him around that he just assumed it someone throwing rocks. Ooh, maybe the spray paint was Maru painting one of her robots behind the house at night and the wind took it to his tent. She didn't notice (or was too nervous to say anything) and again, Linus assumed it was malicious.

I'm about 70% sure the thief is Penny now. On my current run, she keeps commenting how pretty my farm looks (despite never visiting it) in the days after I passed out on my farm and was found being robbed. Coincidence? I think not.

Can we contemplate Rasmodius' ex as a character? She flies over your house and next morning, you have a void egg of no quality sitting in your coop! She doesn't pet her chickens! I'm sure her chickens all "look fine."

I'm not really sure what the game is going for with the witch, to be honest. Rasmodius speaks as though she's cursing people left and right, but all she does is fly by once or twice a year to leave you a single speckled egg in your coop, in plain sight, like the world's laziest Easter Bunny. I always assumed she summoned the eggs from the void which is why they're 'void eggs'. She doesn't appear to have an egg when she blitzes the coop, anyway.

Also, if his magic ink was so important, why did it take Rasmodius years to ask someone to retrieve it and why does he leave it in the Farmer's wallet? Something doesn't add up with that guy. Maybe he didn't even put the seal in front of her house. She can clearly bypass it but he can't. And the Farmer can use the rune or whatever on the ground to transport from her hut to his tower, yet he apparently can't use the connection to get his ink himself. Krobus doesn't mention Rasmodius having given them the seal either, just that they had one. Maybe Rasmodius lied to the Farmer to be able to spy on his ex.

I wish the witch were a character you could interact with and befriend. I'd love to hear the story Rasmodius isn't telling. If I'm honest I like him less each time I play. "Hi I'm Rasmodius, I'm super mysterious and you're super special, bu I can't tell you why. Here, wait a sec while I trap a Junimo in a magic circle for your edification. They never talk to me, can't imagine why! Drink this vile potion, maybe they'll talk to you!" Then off you go to cooperate with the Junimos, repair the community center and then he comes to you with "I'm afraid of my ex, will you go break in and enter her home to steal back a thing I lost in the divorce?"

I so want to hear her take on all this!

I would like a late game quest that allows you to talk to the witch and learn a little about her. She doest even have to be friendable. Something like Birdie's quest would be great.

Or call the wizard out on his unhealthy behavior.

But I think it would be fun to find out that he's blowing things wildly out of proportion, the witch is rewarding you with a void egg when she sees you have a coop, sure those shrines are creepy but actually that's why she locked them up in the hut. She doesn't live there, it's a storage shed of No-Touchies. Maybe it's the witch Abigail met on her walks and she turned her hair purple because she saw how much Abby liked the color.

More diversity in characters would be great. I agree we are missing a postie too. I'd also like to see the kids grow up in the game and not just stay toddlers for years. More marriage candidates, more characters with different careers and shops. More character dialogue. A few more events too. So grateful for what we have already but it's always good to have a change after so many years of Stardew Valley.

I'd like to see more specialty shops, too. Maybe a clothier you can buy cloth and clothing from and dye things for a cost instead of making your own dye at Emily's. A mechanic you can buy sprinklers and some other machines from (maybe they could also be presented as a secondary romance option for Maru, kind of like Sam & Penny or Haley & Alex). Someone to buy cheese and milk from (or have Shane start selling them after a certain heart event). I'd like some middle ground between doing everything yourself and going the full Joja pay-for-everything route.
