Questions Regarding Cabins

I'm getting conflicting feedback on this, so I thought I'd ask here before I started experimenting. I'm sure someone here has already tried it all out. ^_^

  1. If I build a cabin on my single player farm and then get someone to pop in and claim it in local multiplayer, can they gut it out to leave me with an empty room to use as I please in single player thereafter? Or do certain items need to remain in there?
  2. Can they relocate the single/twin bed to an upgraded main farmhouse? And if so, can anyone still sleep in that bed or does the weird 'no more sleeping in a single/twin bed' thing still apply?
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

Yeah they can completely clear it. They can also upgrade it to the size of a farmhouse though which is far more useful than one tiny room.

everyone can sleep in the same bed if they want, it really doesn’t matter

Awesome! Thank you. I'm not planning to upgrade it as it's just going to be the church in my mini-city. I'd rather use the building with a smaller footprint, since it's just decirative. I also think a mix of sheds and cabins will look more like a little city than sheds alone. ^_^

I didn't mean 'can everyone sleep in the same bed' but rather 'can your farmer now sleep in a single/twin bed in their farmhouse' as opposed to being forced to use a double bed? Sorry, I can see where that might not have been clear.

Upgrading the cabins doesn’t make them larger. Every upgraded building always uses the same footprint as it’s predecessor actually.

I think the 3rd upgrade of the stone house looks the most like a church

My favourite collections and odd treasures are crowded into an un-upgraded shed with a sofa and fireplace tucked into a corner for this reason. I always need more storage space but I keep that one just for coziness. :house:
My old storage shed was unuograded for the same reason, it’s a bit annoying that you can’t paint unuograded buildings because sometimes I just build them for the aesthetic, basic coop loos so mucin better than it’s upgrades for example

I get it's probably to encourage you to fully upgrade, but I'd like to paint at other stages, too. Maybe there could be a painting fee that lowers with each upgrade until the last, when it becomes free?

I think it’s just ape wanting to cut his losses and now have to program the colours in for every single building when 99% of players will always fully upgrade.

makes sense but still would be fun

Yeah, that make sense.

Same with the main house in a different regard, I wish there were another way to unlock the cask recipe, I love the tiny house
On my Four Courners farm, I'm not going beyond the first upgrade. I think that size (with the little kitchen & bedroom) is perfect. The last bundle will certainly take a little longer. ^_^

Maybe any fully upgraded building could let you choose which interior and exterior design you want? So you could have, say, the little cozy interior but the fancier paintable outside, or vice versa. Could access it through the renovations option in Robin's shop, like the extra rooms for the farmhouse. Perhaps give the cellar an independent toggle option too?

That's my favorite interior but the basic house is my favorite exterior, I feel like it's way more to the rustic, abandoned farm vibe.

I so agree! I love the smaller size too. I'd prefer upgrading Pam and Penny's house as an earlier alternative (for Grandpa's 4 candle approval) rather than after all of the farmhouse options are complete. Or maybe a cozy cabin downsize option later on.

I would love it if the community upgrades were separated from the house upgrades. Maybe they become available after the coop or barn is built and the first house upgrade or even after the community center is done. Or it could be attached to earnings, like the farm cave.
