i just got the 1st prize at the crop fair. i have been doing that for ages through maybe 20 games. this time i used stuff i don't put in there like gold wool and gold fiddlehead fern. i was totally surprised. score was 91.

I'm jealous.
I'm usually unlucky with Random Numbers Generation in games, though I must admit that Stardew Valley is far better on this topic than many other games I've played.
For the most unlucky times, I would say that it tooks me years to finally get the skeletal hand artifact with my first farmer ever, every other artifacts was spawned several times when the skeletal hand finally dropped. Also, every time I get the Prismatic Jelly quest, I always find the Prismatic Slime very late on Saturday or Sunday, even when intensively farming the caves. Which is very enraging when one knows that my daugher got it on the very first level she entered. Twice.
For the lucky times, I would say when I had a fishing Special Order at Mountains Lake to complete before the end of the day and I very doubted that I could make it. Not only was I for once extremely lucky to get enough fishes of the right type bitting in a very short amount of time, but I had also enough time for a quick cave exploration in the nearby mines that granted me a prismatic shard and a autopetter! Boy, that was a good day!

I thought the spwan chance was 25% or something, my first floor (in cavern) 15 or something floor I found it, and I got the item, i thought it was not rare

I'm not overly lucky in the game but I think it's because I don't make my luck. You have to plan at least a little to make sure you're in the right place when Luck finds you. I've never gotten the Red Cabbage Seed from the Traveling Cart but that's because I barely get there once a week to check. Remembering what day it is?

After a week of that kind of futility does it even surprise anyone that I just barely make it out of bed by the early slanting wakeful rays of the 6pm sun to doze at the River under a tree and Fishing Pole, contemplating how I'd probably get T and Th or M and W or Sa and Su all mixed up even if I did carry a day planner with me. Seriously how much more similar could they have made half the week??!?
