That's a good point. I don't think I've ever seen someone do a playthrough where they don't leave the farm at all, since that cuts off a lot of the game.How am I going to get a fishing rod?
I've seen people do it where they can only leave on the last day of every month, but if you feel that that's too often a year would work.
If you want, fishing adds a lot, ores on every farm, cash (if that means anything), weapons, potentially later ores earlier, etc.
