Why some seeds are not available in year 1?

Red cabbage is always the last thing for bundles. And I don't want to check traveling cart twice a week.
When you start a new save, there is an option that "allow 1st year bundles completion" (adds red cabbage to Cindersap Forest Fridays+Sundays merchant, sometime in year 1).

Although to be perfectly honest, with the low player speed, absurd chores and strict timeframe of the upstart player before late game upgrades, i never found time to visit that vendor during year 1, anyway...

Everyone has their own speed. I make a point to visit her every day I can, but that's bc I'm hoarding rare seeds and on the lookout for a deal on fruit trees

It's a reasonable part of game progression as there are a few Seeds unavailable until you open the Desert so you'll likely not be able to sue them until year 2.

But really nasty part for Red Cabbage is that it's required for the Geenhouse. Not just any convenient thing from the Community Center like the Quarry (woo.) or the Minecarts (so fun. they got 'em in other games now too. wow.). Or Panning (aaaaaa..... Hat. I am overly whelmed).

But holy frijoles the most gatekept yet most desirable reward of any Community Center Bundle, the magic Greenhouse is sequestered away behind the rarest purplest thing still described as 'red' but somehow not purple enough for Abby to like, a freekinfracken Red Cabbage Seed that requires me to remember to see the Traveling Cart Lady twice a week every week. Remember, my personal kryptonite.

Cruelty, this is.

And before anyone brings up the Remixed be kind Rewind rewhatever thing, I already mentioned the most important "re": remember. When starting a new save, there is a chance precisely matching the Lego Movie sword of Exact Zero possibility that in my excitement that I'll remember to find wherever remixed bundles is hiding. Come Year 1 Fall, the knowledge of forgetting an eleventh time will settle in like that spare tire Farmer Bobbi is constantly trying to get rid of.

Year 2 Community Center is Farmer Bobbi's fate and nothing will change it.

When you create a new character you can change some options in a menu that is at the bottom left. There you can change the settings for the community center bundles and for the mines.

I made a big long post but it got kapoofed. Ong story short, instant gratification is not always a good thing. If you're not willing to put in the work to get the greenhouse sooner, which is why CA made the Y1 option a thing, then you shouldn't complain when the option and opportunity is sitting right there in front of you. That's your choice, and you're choosing not to do something that is relatively easy for everyone except Lew.

Sometimes with remixed bundles you don't need a red cabbage at all. If you do get the dye bundle with cabbage, the normal, easy way to get a seed or a red cabbage is from the cart. In my current game the cart has the cabbage, not the seed, almost every week. The traveling cart is the built in way to attain resources early- high level fish, cooked dishes, ancient seeds, etc. Other than the traveling cart, you can get red cabbage seeds from the skull cavern in year 1.
