Why red mushroom can't be made to artisan goods?

Judging by its design/color, this is the Amanita Muscaria fungus. It cannot become anything, only consumed as is (in small parts), plus is harmful to the person; especially when overdosed.
So when Mario eats a red mushroom, he gets positive health benefits, but we get poisoned huh?
Thanks for this tidbit, that's super interesting. My confusion has always been around the Purple Mushrooms and Magma Cap Mushrooms... those look poisonous, how are they restorative
Do you know if those are based on some irl mushrooms as well?

I'm sorry to disappoint, but i only know of the red mushroom's real life equivalent and yes; it is the mushroom that super mario took inspiration from.

Pufferfishs are toxic but it can be smoked. Eating it needs deep processing. I don't think this is important with worse gaming experience.

What's the difference of red mushroom?
They are poisonous no matter what

Since it’s giving negative health when consumed (quite a lot actually, 1-2 mushrooms can always kill you depending on quality and your health level), I’d stay they’re poisonous and therefore not suited for artisan goods.
It gives minus Energy 50 ... 130, not health. You can pass out due to exhaustion from them in SDV.

Also you can make Life Elixirs from them by combining all 4 normal mushroom types from the cave (cf https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Red_Mushroom)
