Why isn't Elliott giving us children?

We married ages ago, and then it took me ages to level up my house to the one with a nursery. Ive tried going to bed before, around the same time, after, and no cutscene about asking me for babies. HELP!

The chance is low enough to be frustrating at times, especially when you're making the most of each day and start to be a bit unlucky

One of my earliest files I had to wait a little under 3 months before I could choose to have a kid which was seriously annoying. I then had that kid and got annoyed it was always underfoot though so maybe it was a blessing in disguise :l
