Why can't I place my crab pot in the ocean on my Android App?

I am only able to place crab pots in lakes. Is this a glitch? Has anyone else experienced this?

It’s probably a hit box issue, those are very common on mobile. Try changing your zoom level or switch to a different control layout.

You can try tapping the land right next to the body of water, or right between the water tile and the land

The tap to move control scheme is hit or miss with a lot of stuff like this
