Where is my Dark Talisman?

I received the quest for this from Krobus, opened the chest at his bug farm and thought I had the Dark Talisman, but when I returned to my farm and checked my inventory there was no talisman there. I returned to the Railroad station, hoping that maybe I didn't actually need the item, but Qi was no where around and the opening was still blocked. Where did the talisman go? The only item I had in my inventory that I could not account for was a small little stone like object that said I should take it to the museum to have the NPC there look at it. I did this and received a reward of some type of special seed, which I have planted and is growing. Does this have something to do with the talisman?

I went back to Krobus' bug farm to ensure I had looted the chest, and it was no longer there.

I'm confused!

The talisman goes into your wallet. Check the skills page.

Interact with the barrier for it to disappear.

Also, it's the Wizard that gave you the quest, not Mr. Qi

Yeah I think it can be very difficult to realize where it is unless your already familiar with the wallet but yes it doesn't take an inventory spot, and once you have it you can interact with the blockage instead of a mandatory cut scene which would have made it more clear you got it but hey glad you got it all figured it all out
