Whats your favorite npc that's not romanceable?

Willy because he gave me the most expensive gift because I smell like something. – you will figure out how to smell fishy one day.
Plus, I enjoy having girl movie time with Sandy.

I like Linus and Krobus for totally different reasons. I love that Linus made a choice to commune with Nature. We know nothing about him. For all we know, he left a comfortable lifestyle to do so. I try hard not to judge him. He keeps a very clean campsite and the inside of his tent has all the comforts he'd need. So, he's not hard up for money. Which makes him an interesting NPC to me. Someone I'd just hang out with when fishing or enjoying the outdoors.

Krobus, on the other hand, seems like a trouble maker. I picture getting into all kinds of mischief with him. Pulling pranks, hiding behind bushes giggling, stuff like that. But if you think about it. Linus and Krobus are a lot alike in the sense that neither one of them trusts humans. But both of them, in time, end up trusting you which is kind of special.

All of them. Stardew has such interesting characters I'd have to say it's almost impossible to decide.
But I do like the characters who have more interesting heart events better than those that don't. The mysterious backstories are one of the main reasons I find Stardew's NPCs so well made.

I really like Demetrius! His scientific knowledge and research is kinda interesting and he seems like such a solid nice guy. I would also love to know more about Willy's backstory. Also gotta love Krobus, what a dashing fellow.

OK, Gil is my Spirit Animal but can't really be a favorite NPC as there's just not much interaction there.

Which is why he's my Spirit Animal.

It's complicated.

So the Wizard should be my favorite as he's a kook but quite the businessman as he gives you your first sample free from his cauldron. And then lets you change your appearance for a mere 500g. What a reasonable guy...

Ah, but then comes the hard sell: discount teleport Obelisks at a mere half million g... which later on you find are mostly useless as they're one-way. You have to walk back. You know this is intentional because then comes the million g Obelisks. Apparently that extra half mil pays for the return part of the contract. Details.

And finally comes the halo product. The 1TB iPhone 13 Pro Max or Bugatti Chiron of Stardew Valley: The Gold Clock. At a mere 10 million g it's affordability is legend for the Min-Maxxers but slightly out of range for the typical lazy Farmer who can barely sell her best product for 6300g. While getting dirty looks haggling for such a minuscule price.

*Sigh* The problem is that he's all the way over at the far end of the Forest and it takes just forever to get there.

Fine. It's Krobie because he sells me my lovey the Return Sceptre. And for 1/5 the price of a stupid clock.

Competition is good.

I agree with what was previously said that characters in Stardew Valley very well written and all interesting in their own way. As such, depending on my mood or current play style, I will prefer one or another.

If I average on several playthroughs, I would say that Linus and Leo are my favorite because they are the ones I bond with the most often while playing my various farmers.

I LOVE Marlon, I think he's very cool, but I do have a soft spot for Pierre. Yes, the fandom's favourite punching bag besides Lewis and Clint, I know. I just like him, y'know? He's got a good heart, even if he does have some questionable practices.

Demetrius and Marnie.

I'm basically a Demetrius in real life, so I figure we would quickly learn to accept each other's weird and not be offended by tomatoes classified as fruit (I actually thought Demetrius was being charming and funny by buying the tomatoes, but Robin got so furious...)

Marnie, because she's incredibly sweet, open, caring and loving towards animals, and brave to jump in a new relationship head-first and accept the needs of the other. I wish I WERE her.

Also, not so much a favorite as someone I feel a lot of affinity with, Clint. I have a social phobia too (not online thankfully...) and I admire his resolve to fight it and go out to the pub most nights, even if he can't really talk to people yet.

Krobus counts, right? I mean, he can be your roommate, but that isn't romance. So, I choose Krobus. He's just so fun and cute. I also like how he isn't conniving and doesn't have any ulterior motives, unlike some NPCs.

It's 1000% the Wizard for me, for all the reasons Lew already said. A consummate businessman (Pierre has nothing on him), mysterious, powerful, integral to the game, with subtle lore drops all over the place which hint at complex relationships and let you fill in the gaps yourself. There's plenty of space for threads devoted to the Wizard and his relationship to others but no one is making threads debating what Clint's real relationship is with anyone as an example. He is way out of the way and it DOES take forever to get there, but that's just like how you can't meet him during the introductions quest on day 1. He makes you work for it. And it's worth it

I love Sandy! She calls me sweetie and babe, jokes around, and in addition to gifts in the mail, she gives me milk in person! I think she's the only character that gives gifts in person like that.

Willy. I instantly liked him from the first time I met during my first playthrough. ^^ I don’t know why exactly, I just felt drawn to him? Maybe it’s something nostalgic base with how since I was a toddler, my dad would take me out on fishing trips? Plus, Willy just has this very fun and cool vibe to him. I like chilling with him while he’s fishing, and of course I’d be fishing too.
