What about the Switch?

When do you think Switch will get 1.5?

When will we see any updates? The console versions of the game appear very far behind and it’s very demotivating to play when you know other users on PC are having a blast with new content.

I had a quick look at the versions for each platform ( https://stardewcommunitywiki.com/Stardew_Valley_Wiki ) and I can't see where they should be "far behind". You have to understand how the process of updates works on mobile / console platforms. Usually it is a combination of prolonged verification and depending on platform may cost even money. As you can see, there are some bugs and balancing issues on the current 1.5 version so it is far easier to fix it on PC first and then give it to the consoles / mobile instead of constantly patching / hotfixing several of them. CA already stated the update comes in Q1 to the consoles. Just relax, it is only 2/3 of a month out yet.

I was not aware we were on 1.4 at the time of making my post. I was waiting on 1.4 and stopped playing the game before it was released. Furthermore, I didn’t find anything saying anything about the “when” or “if” 1.5 was coming to Switch, otherwise I would not have posted. I am calm. Perhaps you should have a nice hot cup of tea.

You know now, but yeah, console/mobile is only one major update behind, and that update came out at the tail-end of last month for PC users. I can't give a concrete date (and honestly, neither can ConcernedApe-- these types of things operate outside of his control) but the only reason 1.3 spent so long coming out was because multiplayer was a HUGE overhaul of code. 1.4 didn't take nearly as long to port, and though 1.5 is a big update, it does not do anything that fundamentally changes the whole code of the game, so the wait shouldn't be long for this either. The main obstacle right now is the rating issue for PS4/PS5 players since they've been going through the resubmission process and it still isn't back yet.

I play on iPad and that's the last to get updates. Of course I'm eager for 1.5, but I haven't been playing 1.4 as long as pc or console players. :smile:

1.4 was initially released November 26, 2019. It was updated to 1.4.1 December 2. It was updated to 1.4.2 on December 4.

At 1.4.2 it came to Switch on December 16th. 12 days after 1.4.2 came to PC.

1.5 came out December 21, 2020. It was updated to 1.5.1 on December 24. It was updated to 1.5.2 on Jan 8, 5 days ago.

...and CA might want to work out a few more bugs still too before giving it to the people that port it over to the other platforms. I wouldn't even begin to worry yet, and getting "very demotivat[ed]" might be a bit dramatic, no?
