Villagers and festivals

I've noticed this on both the PC version when I played it and my Switch version. If there's a festival going on that you're not interested in attending, you see villagers out roaming around. Like, for example, Pam heading to the bus once you've unlocked it. Something should be put in the game to correct this. If I do see my neighbors out and about on a Festival Day, then it should be on the way to the festival itself! Not sure what I'd have them do on the two that takes place at night though. Anyone have ideas there?

Part of the complication with that is that many Festival start times are over the course of ~5 hours, so if the Egg Festival opens at 9am and is available until 2pm, you should be able to talk to Leah from 9am - 2pm in her cottage. Or visit the Carpenter's Shop to see how that robot's comin' along.

OK so maybe Leah and Maru finally head to the Festival at 1:00pm to get there by 1:50pm. Oh, but you aren't going to the Egg Hunt because you're skipping it and now everyone should have their regular 2pm Saturday schedule. Do they walk to that place from the edge of the Town Map (where they'd be, having targeted a 1:50pm arrival)? I suppose that would work but there are issues like Marlon and the Wizard never leaving their houses, so if that 'immersion break' is already there then why not all the others?

Same goes for Pam. If I want to go to the Desert at 1:30pm or 2:10pm on Egg Festival day, then Pam needs to be at the Bus. Some of this is coded in the game already where Business houses are locked on Festival days, so maybe those should all be Holidays and Pam does her regular pre-Bus schedule and the Desert is closed? That would probably annoy Year 2 and later game players who skip some Festivals and are playing other aspects of the game.

It's a series of tradeoffs and the current behavior of the game is one of a few viable ones. Maybe there are some mods that people use to tailor this behavior towards their preferred style of play.
