Mac Vanished Autoharvester

When my character went to the barn this morning, the autograbber had vanished! It's still collecting the milk, etc, though. I checked Lost and Found in the Mayor's House, but to no avail. Is there anything I can do? Will getting a new autograbber cancel out the lost one, or do I have to ditch this whole game? I'm using a 2020 Macbook Air. Thanks!

Are you sure last time you emptied the autograbber you didn't also remove it somehow? Have you checked your chests and other locations on your farm? Which version are you using, Steam or GOG? And no mods, yes?

Thanks, Wildandblue! I have checked and rechecked the chests and wandered around the farm vainly searching. Using Steam and no mods. I'm assuming that, if I had sold it or put it in the trash, it'd have stopped being connected to my animals. Sigh.

Can you try pickaxing the spot where it used to be? Maybe it just turned invisible?

Otherwise you could try building a second barn and moving the animals there if a new autograbber doesn't work.

Thank you, Ereo! I didn't know that items could become invisible! But, alas, it wasn't there. I'm going to try the new autograbber. I don't have enough gold to build up to a new deluxe barn from scratch. My autograbber could be anywhere. I assume that it's easy to move animals to a different barn.

They shouldn't become invisible, but they shouldn't disappear either!

Yes, as soon as you have a new barn, you can click on the animals like you want to put them a second time and select "move"

Good luck with your new autograbber. If you only want to see if a new barn works, it doesn't have to be a fully upgraded one right away. Build a small one and move the first 4 animals, then see what happens with them. You can use the glitched barn for pigs if all else fails, they are very profitable and the product appears outside.

Thanks again. The new autograbber works fine, but, while reading the wiki about it, I saw that they're only supposed to work while in a barn or coop. So the game thought my original autograbber was there. Weird.
