Using a controller with my iPad

On a whim I bought a controller to use with my iPad to play Stardew with. Ithough it might help with some of the difficult stuff like fishing and Junimo Kart and stuff.

I feel like a bit of a nitwit because I can’t seem to get the hang of it. It’s an 8bitdo pro2 and I’ve never used a controller before :frown: I got a lovely game on the App Store and it has hints to how to use it in specific situations. I’ve got so far through the game and now I’m absolutely stuck. Can anyone point me in the right direction? A simple app to help get the hang of it or a video - I’ve tried youtube and not found anything.

Hello

I understand getting used to a new controller can be tricky. The 8bitdo Pro 2 is a great choice, though! For starters, I recommend checking out the 8bitdo official app for firmware updates and customization options. Additionally, there's a simple app called "Controller Tester" on the App Store that can help you get familiar with button layouts and functionalities. For specific game controls, try searching for "Stardew Valley 8bitdo Pro 2 tutorial" on YouTube again , https://www.stardewvalley.net/community/ or check out the "Stardew Valley" subreddit for advice.

Hope this helps!

Thank you

Three days later……. Well we’re now going along thanks to nolanmaris’ generous help and I’m three days into a new farm. I’ve dug and planted my seeds and cleared some scrub and was just down at the forge asking Clint to open a geode for me. For the umpteenth time I pressed a button on the controlller and the game crashed. It seems to be a different button each time. Can anyone help?
