My partner and I have been playing on our new 1.6 Farm since the update became available around Christmas. Starting yesterday, we are unable to connect player 2 without the game crashing. It is extremely repeatable and seems to be unique to this save file. We are not experiencing the same issue on our Farm that was started on the previous patch, but the Farm we want to play on has seemingly locked us out. Here are the steps:
From main menu, select 'Co-op' and 'Split Screen'
Select farm and wake up as Player 1
Go into menu and select 'Start Multiplayer'
Player 2 presses start, selects character
At this point the menu goes away and right at the moment where the screen should populate and the player wakes up, the game crashes in the typical Xbox way (screen freezes, whatever sound is currently playing gets stretched out for ~2 seconds and then the game crashes out to Xbox home menu)
We've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, and deleting and re-syncing save data. We're out of ideas and we're a little terrified at the thought of losing this farm. Any insights of help with this would be greatly appreciated!
UPDATE
We've narrowed it down a bit further and it seems like something is wrong with my partner's character specifically. I built a new cabin on the farm and created a new test character who loaded in without issue.
I can enter and exit my partner's cabin without issue. There aren't any strange or unique items inside it.
When last played, my partner didn't pass out or die in combat, they went to bed normally in the main house like we always do. We can't recall anything out of the ordinary in her inventory.
No idea what's going on :(
