Upcoming 1.5 switch update question

I was curious if anyone knows if I will have to start a whole new save file for the new update or will the update be added to my current file im playing on? I'm kind of tired of re-starting my farms to be honest.

You will NOT have to start new saves to get 1.5 content. You will if you want ALL of the 1.5 content. You can't shuffle the mine or CC without starting a new game, and if you're too far along, you're past the point where you can get certain new cutscenes. All of the late-game 1.5 content, however, and there is a lot of it, will be easily available to you. (Just remember that you will have to play at least 1 day after the update before you start getting in-game mail about the 1.5 content.)

Just worth mentioning that with the exceptions Imnvs mentioned or if you want to play on a new farm map, a new farm is never needed to play new game updates!

I'll come back and mention that I'm kinda glad I got to explore the 1.5 content in an old save. I had already hit over 50M total earnings and just about everything was done, and I mean literally everything... which meant I had all the time in the world to explore the new 1.5 content without feeling like I was neglecting anything.
