This idea came from a dream i had from playing too much stardew, like really too much. Imagine digging deep down in the mines on your usual day of grinding for precious ores, metals and minerals, then you saw a strange creature darting across in the distance. Cautiously, you followed your instincts and uncovered a hole hidden behind boulders and rocks. After much heaving and clearing the way, you find yourself barely squeezing into the hole. Then, an amazing sight beholds you, a huge underground cavern topped with cascading waterfalls down into a deep abyss below. A medieval castle loomed overhead you, right smack in the center of this big space. Wait, is that a short huma- i mean a dwarf? Many pairs of eyes glistened at you, watching your every step.
Yep, you just discovered a long-forgotten dwarven kingdom hidden deep down in the mines. This will be an amazing upgrade, with more NPCs and quests from these lil guys, more mysteries and ancient magic. A long forgotten folklore, a dusty book abandoned in the wizard's attic.
It will be an interesting storyline/side plot hahahaha
