After previously being able to play modded stardew with friends, attempts to join the game now result in the black screen
This has been SOLVED for our case, where it turned out that despite being necessary, https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/1348 - "space core" was not installed and was not popping up as "you need this to run mods"
