truffle production question

apologies in advance this is a commonly asked question, i couldn't find anything online about it ;^^
im planning my beach farm layout right now, and im wondering if pigs can produce truffles on the patches of grass ? the permanent patches that dont do anything, not the kind that you can cut with a scythe

Hi nightknu and welcome to the Forums!

Those Truffles will show up everywhere on the map except in the water. And with such a big map, you'll be searching a while to find all of them.

So yes, you can use the big tillable areas for your favorite projects (remember that no sprinklers are allowed except on that smaller Farming patch, though there is an end-game soil additive option to get around this) and save the grassy areas for the Piggies to dig up their brown chunks of sweet, sweet g ehm... Truffles.
