What do you think is the most useful trinket?

So far I have used the healing one as it's such nice quality of life when going to the mines. But happened to get a perfect quiver fall in my lap, and wonder how that may compare.

What say you? What do you like using?

Ice Rod can help me block some instant attack then I have time to respond and fight back.

Parrot Egg gives me a lot of money but now I am rich enough.

Now I am wearing Magic Hair Gel which makes me cool.

Depends. In normal mines and SCavern, my favorite is Perfect Magic Quiver or Perfect Ice Rod (very effective when you wear Napalm ring, in your rings combo). Whenever i feel stingy with recovery items or haven't built up a fortune yet, a Fairy Box is my best bet; this is also useful in Dangerous Mines, since certain enemies prevent you from eating/drinking.

My late game recipe though, is Basilisk Paw, which i couple with DragonScale boots for maximum efficiency. Useful in all situations, especially the volcano (flames' debuff).

My fave is the fairy box, combined with a vampire ring and slime charmer ring. I don't even eat in the mines unless I want a food's buff.

Sometimes I'll use a Magic Arrow or Ice Rod to help me discern real gold nodes from gold crabs. Saves a lot of time when I'm after gold.

It depends but there are definitely a few that are better than others, and some which play to specific playstyles more than others.

If you really just love killing absolutely everything you may benefit most from the parrot trinket which will reward that sort of mindset with a decent chunk of cash. If you're someone who very easily forgets to look at their health or plays multiplayer and can't eat fast enough always the fairy box is quite beneficial. If you're doing a stairless run or even a deepdive (and want to optimize the few times you're actually attacking something), the spur will give a little boost to help with that. And if you want full immunity for the danger mines without making a specific ring combo to ensure that, then the basilisk paw has some use too.


Frog, ice, quiver all do stuff that the others do better or are just not worth it in most cases versus the benefits of the other trinkets, but nothing's stopping you from using them yourself. The frog is also quite cute just following you around or in terrariums.
