Treasure Totem

Right, the official definition of treasure:

“very valuable things, usually in the form of a store of precious metals, precious stones, or money
Or perhaps an artifact?

So:
Happy day: check
Rabbit’s foot: check
Spicy eel: check

Treasure totem results:
Clay and mixed seeds.

I Would like to say that I am speechless, but let’s just say I am very peeved. It took time and resources to grow that stupid tree and make the totem. My character has literally found hundreds of mixed seeds and clay, I don’t need a totem for those.

I think that this game needs to revisit the definition of treasure.
I would like a refund on that totem.

Where are you using it, might be on the Farm? The Farm map has bad drops, try it at Ginger or the Beach and you'll get better loot if you're lucky. But you'll need at least 10 Totems or so for the odds to work out nicely and get some reasonable loot. But really the loot isn't super great unless you're at Ginger looking for Golden Coconuts, Mystery Boxes, Artifact Troves and Omni Geodes. On Pelican Town maps you'll see Mystery Boxes, Lost Books, Ores, and Animal Crackers but yeah not what I'd call actual
Pirate Treasure like:

Gold Bar
Iridium Bar
Magic Rock Candy
Pearl
Radioactive Bar
Dragon Tooth

or... y' know... maybe an actual:

Treasure Chest

It'd be neat if each area had a chance to drop something unique/special when you used the treasure totem.

Pearls on the beach
Iridium bars in the desert
Treasure chests on Ginger island
Golden Pumpkins on the farm
etc.

I've not really found much use for them, as they currently are. They're a neat item, but also a very niche item.

It sort of does? Many areas have exclusive artifacts or artifacts that are primarily found within that area like the golden mask/tablet at the desert

And in regards to more treasure-like items, I mean they are just regular artifact spots, the name 'treasure totem' is a little disingenuous

So:
Happy day: check
Rabbit’s foot: check
Spicy eel: check
For the future, luck doesn't affect artifact spots, daily or buff luck.

Well I got my tibia, finally. But can you imagine if this happened in IRL… you need to use 10 of these for it to work well?

Oh yeah, I'm aware they're just regular artifact spots, but I was just describing how I'd like the totem to ideally work. As you pointed out, the name 'treasure totem' is kind of a misnomer. As they currently work, 'artifact totem' would be a more apt description. But if each area had a chance to also give a unique item (ie. treasure) when you used the treasure totem, it would be a lot more useful/interesting. Just my opinion, of course.

I partially agree, I think it's a little annoying that they're hyped up to be another totem (which generally do pretty cool magical teleportation or spawn in a whole different weather pattern) and all it does is spawn some worms in the dirt

I'd much prefer it were just some more generic sprite and as a general forage recipe or something bought from the island trader for example (sort of fits his vibe), with the treasure totem being either an upgraded version or have some alternate use that made it more special for the relatively costly crafting recipe
