Transferring saves from a pirated version to Steam

I played a little on the pirated version of the game and liked it, so I bought the game. Is it possible to transfer my character to the licensed version of the game? Which files need to be transferred where?
(Sorry for the bad English, I use a translator).

All saves should be transferable no matter their source. If you're playing on a PC (likely) then your saves will automatically be picked up by Stardew bought from Steam or GOG, etc. I played from my GOG.com install for years before installing the Steam version and all my GOG saves were recognized by Steam and are playable on either "version" (they're identical) of the game.

You can find your Stardew Saves here:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\StardewValley\Saves

Each Farm save is it's own folder and that folder is one portable, self-contained save. You could even move it to Android and play there though I've never done this, but I've moved mine between Mac and PC with no issues.

And please buy Stardew to play it legit, it's worth it even if it's difficult to come up with the money. It's not on sale anywhere currently but hopefully it will be soon.

Thank you very much, your advice helped me. I have already bought Stardew and I'm very happy with the purchase; the saves also transferred automatically.

And here you see people, the remedy to piracy isn't DRM...

But making High Quality games like this one, which makes you WANT to pay! Pirate's aren't cheapskates, but mostly, fed up individuals with low quality mass produced videogames, dumbened down gameplay, as well as the (mal)practices of modern corporations! Had been one for years myself, until i discovered GOG of old, which had been great. Well, post its transformation, i at least stick with indie games, oldies-goldies in general and sweet deals, with caring devs (full content, decent pricetag, regular updates, game polishing), active communities etc.

I bought without fail, any and all pirated games i once had, i really enjoyed playing and most importantly, those were available somewhere to buy. The usual issue is the latter; no legal way to acquire it. Another large portion of pirates, are pirates, just for the sake of preservation and stuff.

Yes Stardew is worth the buy. I know it’s hard too be surrounded by and fed up with Nickel and dime modern style video games. I didn’t pirate but I had to quit modern gaming (I was addicted to their traps and coughed up hundreds of much needed irl dollars to advance.) I gave up gaming so I could stop the addiction. Then I found Stardew. Never looked back. This guy is the real deal. Once per platform period. No update fees, never any in app purchases to progress through. I can’t say the addiction hasn’t returned cause it’s that much fun, but at least I’m not wasting much needed irl money now. Im glad you bought the game and supported this great developer in the end!
