I was cutting down some trees and the wood got stuck on the upper ledge? This isn't a huge inconvenience, but it's something to keep in mind, in my pinion at least:)

Later on, you'll find items (magnet rings or food to increase magnetism) that increase the radius at which you collect things. Then the wood won't get stuck in an unreachable location any more.

For now, you'll have to try to make the tree fall away from the ledge (also make it fall away from water). The tree will always fall away from you, even when you're cutting it from above or below. Try to stand slightly to the left if you want it to fall to the right and vice versa.
