Gamerant wrote an article about my Secret Woods:
ok...don't know anything about this site, last pc mag i red was "PC Games" back in the 90's. Printed, of course. i'm still a little proud of thatOK that's cool that your Secret Woods setup got picked up! But I'm hesitant to click that because it seems all gamerant does nowadays is have AI make articles for them and more clicks will encourage them. Like: How long does Spring last in Stardew Valley? Um, like anyone playing the game simply knows that.
ok thank you, now after researching i found out it's just a site full of spam, they don't even get the facts right about the game!I intrepidly gave GameRant the click aaand… regretted it. So let us celebrate @Ferris Bueller in other ways.

i just read your short-story again, but beforehand the event of emily's 10 heart event! now i understand it, and it's so funny i love it!Hmmm, I wonder what this would do to the atmosphere of Emily's 10event...
__________
Emily walks into the "Secret" Woods with Tent, backpack, li'l campfire stove, 2 sleeping bags and stops short. "Ooooohhh, I don't remember this place being so well-lit," she says dazzled by the rows of machines. "It's like the Casino behind Sandy's place but run by the Power Company." She wanders among the Crystalariums, constantly getting her big pack stuck on them, shifting and wiggling to unwedge herself. "Well, I wanted this evening to be cozy close but not a claustrophobic monochromatic hedge maze." The delight at seeing the first few Diamonds wears off quickly. "Mmm, not a single Ruby or Emerald..." Emily says absently while wandering, "I'd even take an Aquamarine for a bit of variation." Now feeling that she's far enough in to set up camp, she spies a slightly more open space near a stump and distractedly puts her pack down to start distributing its contents.
Unrolling the first bag, Emily hears a rustling seemingly a long way away followed by a muffled thud and an "Ouch!"
"Uhhh... Bobbi, is that you?" Emily calls.
"Yes!" The faraway voice squeaks, "I thought I was coming upon a campfire-lit opening and walked right into this purple TV that's humming but doesn't have any of my favorite shows. When did this place get converted into a Sports Bar?" Emily snickers, hearing Bobbi's voice slowly becoming nearer and clearer. "Wait!" Bobbi yells in surprise, "Is this the new Spirit's Eve Maze? Will Giant Robots pop out of these metal TV coffins and reprogram us to play Chess better so they don't get bored?" Emily smiles. "Hey where are you anyway?"
"I'm by one of the stumps," Emily calls, now having serious second thoughts about the evening's plans. This isn't really what she'd wanted.
"Beep boop boop, LOCATING...LOCATING, CENTERING ON TARGET," Bobbi says in a mechanical voice. "TOO MUCH ECLECTOMAGIC INTERFERENCE. FAILING!" Emily hears another thump and suppresses a laugh.
"Was that your head or your sensor thing?" Emily calls.
"OK too much fun, that was my head..." Bobbi mutters in muffled response as she rounds the corner in a very slight daze, finding Emily already rolling up the sleeping bag.
"Oh your poor noggin," Emily rushes over to feel Bobbi's head, "really, you can get hurt being such a clown!" Emily pauses for a split second with wide eyes. "You're not a clown! I didn't mea-"
"I know you silly," Bobbi says, grabbing a Salmonberry from a bush and rubbing it on her nose to turn it red. She yells, "Jeeves! My overly tiny car, stat!"
Almost in response, there's another rustling in the bushes and Emily's eyes go a little wide again and glances quickly aside at Bobbi. There's a soft >bonk< followed by a "mrrrfhhh..." and a bear appears between 2 of the pulsing machines. It blinks in the garish brightness. Bobbi is eyeing the bear and behind her Emily 's hand comes up to her mouth in a distinct shushing motion. But the bear doesn't see this.
"What's all this?" the Bear says, "I get the wrong Secret Woods?" Emily is making a sideways slicing motion on her neck behind Bobbi but running out of space as Bobbi's backing into her. "No, you look familiar..." he says as Emily is now making motions for the bear to leave, but brushing up against Bobbi now in the increasingly cramped space. "And you..." the bear continues looking at Bobbi closely...
"You're my May-Pal!!" the bear roars with a big toothy smile and gives Bobbi... well... a great big bear hug.
He turns to the now frozen-in-time Emily with her hands half-flopped in front of her and a small open mouth. The bear releases Bobbi and turns to Emily, "You got yourself a good one, you should have told me! She's got May-Pal farm trees and visits me with serrup every season." He grabs Emily and smooshes her and Bobbi together. "You two are great, but could you maybe clean up this mess? How's a bear gonna hibernate if the neighbors leave the lights on all night?" The Bear releases them and ambles off towards the darker part of the woods.
Emily and Bobbi de-smoosh each other as Bobbi says, "he's a Great Bear, he showed me how to find all the best Salmonberries to smoosh my nose with." Bobbi grabs another berry off the bush and smooshed it onto a still slightly stunned Emily's nose, which breaks her reverie." "Hey! You stinker!" And grabs and smooshes another berry on Bobbi.
After considerable smooshmaking, they grab the bags and tent as Emily says, "I have better place which should be OK, though we'll still have a bitta company..."
"Oh, you have more good ideas...?" Bobby asks, glancing askance at Emily. Emily smiles a slightly embarrassed smile. "Mr. Bear was there for a reason wasn't he..." Bobbi continues. Emily opens her mouth to protest but Bobbi cuts her off. "Nonono, I don't want to know! It's fun to imagine what you 'might' have cooked up with my furry buddy." She grabs Emily's hand with a big smile as they exit the woods, reveling in the pleasant darkness and cool breeze.
Later that night, sitting around a small campfire, flickering flames illuminating an old dilapidated building, Emily, Bobbi, and the Hat Mouse roast marshmallows, exchanging Blue Bonnets and Cat Ears and Tropiclips, fun being had by all.

Ha! It looks like I added my Farmer into your creation. It would seem that my farm is a little farther down the road than yours and when attempting to meet Emily in the Secret Woods nearer my farm, we were both attracted to the subtle and unearthly glow given off by your Crystalariums and ended up in the wrong Secret Woods. Luckily we found our way out the wrong direction and ended up in the regular forest by my farm where the Hat Mouse was easily accessible instead of embedded deep within a seemingly neverending maze.but why do you call me bobbi?
i still don't get it why "bobbi"?Ha! It looks like I added my Farmer into your creation. I mentioned in your other post, but Bobbi is my Farmer's name. Also the name of any character who I can name in any game and anything I write.i still don't get it why "bobbi"?
ah ok, sry i lost that info...TY Bobbi! traveler from a foreign land!I mentioned in your other post, but Bobbi is my Farmer's name. Also the name of any character who I can name in any game and anything I write.
ah thank you very much! i never wear that but it's very nice that you tell me this info. could have gotten worseI put some furnaces here, in 1.5 the paths block slimes from spawning but in 1.6 they don’t so make sure not to bring a napalm ring to the secret woods.
Yeah I accidentally blew up a bunch of furnaces randomly swinging my weapon and not realizing slimes were spawning in 1.6....ah thank you very much! i never wear that but it's very nice that you tell me this info. could have gotten worse![]()
