This valley is cursed, but...

I'm going to fix it!

I found out that every stone and tree I can touch is embedded with evil. I have to destroy them all to lift the curse.

Where did I find this information you think, well, Asmodeus the brother of Rasmodius turned to the evil side. And he wouldn't have it.
Rasmodius have no way of stopping this curse so he sent me a very secret letter. More secret than all his other letters.

I was intrigued and understood the meaning of this letter. Rasmodius can't leave his hideout, he have to keep the green blobs out.

EVERYTHING HAS TO BE DESTROYED BEFORE NEXT YEAR, the letter said.
WHY YOU, YOU ASK? YOUR GRAND FATHER TRIED AND DIED, IT IS IN YOUR VEINS! NOW YOU TRY OR EVERYTHING IS LOST!

End story: My intention on this run is to destroy everything on the map and also making some money.

No mine, no fishing, no machinery of any kind, no interactions with villagers at all (except cut scenes)
No real farming, I throw the parsnips in the rubbish and then go to Pierre and buy 10 potatoes and throw them in the rubbish too.
Mixed seed are in as they sell for ZERO gold!

Starting with 0 gold and cant sell (progress limit accounts for this and your input) until last day, maybe season?

I only know a few things I can do, spring seeds and other seasonal seeds, they sell for good money.
Planting oak trees.
And getting spring onions every day.

Any ideas how I could improve this set up? no Caroline (sobs)

The only thing I could think of to improve on this scenario is to shake my head, take a shot and say, "Nope." 🤣

Srsly, though... mining. There's lots to destroy in there which seems on brand for the run, including ore nodes that will allow you to upgrade your tools so that you can destroy stuff faster/easier. You'll never make it with just your unupgraded tools. I see it possible with that restriction being lifted, though.

Maybe I should've left the silly story out of this, but it's basically a forage run in disguise. :) I will grab everything that isn't nailed to the ground, and sell it later.
I can't smash big rocks or hardwood, so I leave them out. They're kind of blessed from this curse. I can't interact with villagers, so sorry Clint, I keep my basic tools.

So why do I do this run? Because every time I seem to end up with the same farm, set up and all. I love farming, fishing and mining in my other games, maybe too much?
So I want to stay away from all that in this run and only get what Mother Nature gives me. Wood, rocks, fiber and forage items that I can plant with spring seeds.

It's nothing to write home about, but I use my energy to slowly clear the farm from stuff, and I have started oak trees and have 20 spring seeds planted.
If I only could find more Daffodils I would have more. Haley must've picked them all. (love you Haley, btw)

So all in all, it's just a basic forage run, with no machines, no interaction with villagers, no mining and of course no fishing. Just being the janitor, cleaning up.
Clint stops by and I shove the door in his face, soon Marnie will come and offer me an animal. She will get the same treatment!!! I don't talk to people, I hate peoples!
I prayed to the worms, they loved my prayer and threw me an ancient seed. Damn you worms, I can't talk to Gunther either. But 5g is 5g. (sob)

I can only figure out 2 things that is sort of useful here. Oak trees (acorns 20g a pop) and seasonal seeds (spring seeds 35g, summer seeds 55g and fall seeds 45g)

So the question is, is there anything else I can do? I looked into crafting and couldn't find anything that could help me.

Thus far I have a blast only focusing on scavenging, not to bother about all these trivial things. Next time I'm going to hurt myself even more, I'm going to fish for a year.
But that's for another day, I want to try to do this one first, haha. :)

I would definitely be tempted to loosen two restrictions: Mining and smithing are sacred to Yoba so on Sunday mornings you are allowed to mine (in place of going near those forbidden people at that rather silly chapel) and you may speak to a smith on the last day of each season (even if it isn't morning) but only to upgrade a tool - and only the ones used to rid yourself of the evil stumps and boulders.

Ok imnvs and Lenora, you certainly make a point about mining, so I took it to heart to start ANOTHER RUN!!

This one will go beside the other one. My first idea will only go on for a season for now, I might still go for a year is it's fun in the end of spring.
This new one will most likely be a long run, but I won't bother you with all details. But for me, it sounds fun. Set a goal every year.

Now when you twisted my arm my other play will be mining on Sundays only, so I throw fishing in on Wednesdays only, This way I will eventually
clear out the farm as you proposed, so I will need 45 copper ore to just upgrade something, and then go further to get 25 iron ore.

Everything I fish will be sold when I reach level 5, but really fishing one day a week?
But I'll probably catch only 20 fish a day with the basic rod, so it will be hard concentration on the fish so I get better quality faster.
Treasure chests and what's in them can also be sold, because I have a plan. At work all day and thought about what you said, so:

I'm going to marry Haley!

So moneywise, how much do I need to fulfill all this?
Upgrade axe to copper: 2k
Upgrade pickaxe to steel: 7k
House upgrade: 10k
Mermaid pendant: 5k
Bouquet: 200g
Total, say 25k
Plus materials.

This is doable, but RNG in the mines suck hardcore, so this will very hard on bad luck days.

I will be the Scavenger every week and grab every forage item and save them all, no forage seeds first year.
Mixed seeds will be saved until summer, when things has calmed down a little bit.

And the base of this, I will be the trash hunter, I will fish 10 trash every 5 days from the junk pond on the farm and have recycling machines.
800 items, plus what I get from fishing and trash bins, might give me something.

Did I miss anything?

And did I say: I'm going to marry Haley! ASAP!

You can get decent money foraging coral. Also, over there you can find seaweed rarely. If you go to the secret woods/mines (not sure what your restrictions are) to fight some slimes and get some green algae. Doing this will get you resources to create a fish pond, if you feel like it, which you can then put certain foraged things in to get some moneys. Just a thought, idk how you feel about Robin.

(This was thought about for your first run, the 2nd run will be easier to do this i guess.)

LRangerL: I would like a fish pond, but unfortunately I'm completely broke, zero gold.

So now I am at first day of summer, I haven't sold anything yet.
A quick break down is about 30k, maybe a bit more, not great, but more than I would've guessed when I started.
I haven't sold anything or bought anything, I guess it stays that way...

Summer, I think I skip the trash bins, since what do I get? Trash! Except a couple of gemstones. Not worth it.
So summer will be the same, BUT with the use of tree fertilizers. If I'm going to pull this through without sprinklers, I need
Field snacks for energy. Summer seeds sells for 55g each, as spring seeds sells for 35g, so with planning summer will
be much better. Autumn seeds are also better than spring, 45g. Winter, no seeds, just sell the stuff.

I picked Gatherer and will go Botanist for better quality.

How much will I earn in a year? We'll see.
