Windows This character belongs to another player

I'm having an issue on multiple saves where my girlfriend cant join because her 'character belongs to another player' which is just not true. I experience the same issue on my end when trying to join her.

I've looked at every thread online, there is barely anyone talking about this issue and nothing seems to work. I use steam as the launcher, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, verifying game files, even looking through files to solve the issue. Nothing works.

Any help would be appreciated. It's frustrating as it makes the game unplayable! I honestly feel like refunding >:(

umm, I also encountered this problem, at first I thought it was a "mod conflict" problem, but then I found out that this player's identity is not available to others to log in, and then after a series of operations, it is to open a new save and let him go in to solve it. I don't know exactly where this is, but it was fixed. Hope it helps
