Texture changes (beginner)

I want to make a mod that changed the textures for the players bed, and the beds in the babies room. I am hoping to do so though content patcher as that seems a much easier and better-working option. I have never made a mod before, and i could use some help figuring it out. How would i begin doing this? For example, are there special tools i need to download?

I found a handy DIYCP editor mod, so i dont need much help in that area. What i really need now is a PNG edior, so i can customize the beds in farmhouse_tiles. Note this mod is for personal use. I do not intend to post it anywhere.

If you ever want to give it another shot, a popular option for pixel art is Aseprite.
