I am using Windows 11 version 24H2, fully updated as of 7/12/25. My computer is a Dell XPS 9315 laptop. I have a 128 MB Intel Iris Xe Graphics card and a 1.00 GHz, 12th Gen Intel Core i5-1230U processor. I am playing in English. I use my laptop's built in keyboard and trackpad. I have this problem in both single and multiplayer.
My version is v16.15 build 24356. I tried to use windows key + R and enter %appdata%/stardewvalley/errorlogs to find error logs but it did not work.
It flickers terribly every time I boot up the game and continues for several minutes. There are also other things, such as plugging in my second monitor and opening a new chrome tab, that trigger it again while the game is playing. It also flickers once every time I adjust the volume. It stops when I minimize the window and starts again when I go back to full screen.
It did this before I installed mods, it still did it after I installed mods, and it still is after I removed all mods, changed the launch option on steam back to default, and uninstalled and redownloaded the game. In the video I took you can see I am using mods but it is still doing it now that I have uninstalled all mods including SMAPI and uninstalled and redownloaded the game.
Side note: although I have unistalled SMAPI as instructed, my save files are still saved as SMAPI. I do not know if I can remove these without fully wiping my save (pic attached). However, as I have said, I had this flickering problem before I installed any mods.
I have three saves, and the problem happens with all of them, AND when I play multiplayer on someone else's save. I apologize but, like I said, %appdata%/stardewvalley/errorlogs was not working. I also used %appdata%\StardewValley\Saves as well as manually navigating to the roaming/stardew/saves folder but the file type did not allow me to attach any of my saves. Not sure what the problem is there. Please let me know if you know and I will upload my save files.
For some reason, the flickering actually stops when I use Windows built in screen recorder. Then it starts up again when I stop the screen record. That’s why I recorded it with my phone. https://imgur.com/a/cWV3vVj
This does not happen with any other steam games that I have tried.
