System of demand

Hello, everyone.
I would like suggest a better demand system in the game. What does it mean? Pesonally I grow the most profitable plants in every season. For example, on spring - beans and potatoes, on summer - blueberry and melons, on autumn - cranberry and pumpkins. I suggest making demand on different crops every year. For example: in one year it's profitable not only to plant pumpkins and cranberry but beet and Artichoke. And crops which are in demand change every year. Cause growing the same things every year it's kinda boring. Usually everybody plant only yam, cranberries, pumpkins and Sweet Gem Berry because they give a lot of money. Personally i think that this new mechanics would diversify the game process.
(sorry, if you dont understand my idea. Its pretty difficult to express your ideas in English when your mother tounge is Russian😅).

You're talking about supply and demand. You want the demand to change periodically so the suppliers have to adapt to the demand.

Unfortunately, I disagree with your premise that people grow only the most profitable crops. I for one don't. I mean, I grow plenty of expensive/profitable crops, but I also make sure to have a good supply of ingredients for the food I want to cook. It isn't until late game, after I've amassed a stockpile of cooking ingredients, that I slow down on planting the things I only use for cooking.

So, I've been thinking... and my big issue for the supply/demand thing is that that only really applies when you can drastically affect the supply. Literally none of our farmers are producing so much that it could affect the greater economy of the world. If our only customers were the people in Pelican town and the surrounds, I could see this... but they're not. Most of our sales go to the shipping bin, so they're being shipped out into the big, wide world, or in other words, a very large market where we're only a drop in the bucket each of us.

The thread posted by Cthulu, where it would be an OPTION to turn on a supply/demand feature, I would be okay with it. If it was not optional, I would be wholly opposed.

I think it's a great idea but there would have to be a place to check prices otherwise it would just be confusing. Maybe on the bulleting board, Pierre's shop or Lewis' house? The farmer could maybe even buy one in a similar way to the calendar!
